A PORTRAIT OF WISDOM

This beautiful soul was walking up Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles, and I had the temerity to asking him to pose for a portrait. I was drawn by his colorful sense of style and personal dignity. This was a person who had lived and was a proud man; comfortable in his own skin.

At first, he was wary, and then agreed, but warned me not "to use my photo for porno!". I assured him that I certainly wouldn't. He backed up against a nearby building, folded his arms and posed; with and without his glasses.

I wish I knew his name; he has such wisdom in his eyes and demeanor.
